History

A Sincere Thank You from Micky & Angelo, The Phantoms –

We wrote so many original songs over the course of ten years that we never really had much time to catalog them and preserve the tapes, or maybe we just piled them in a box because we were PuNkS, who knows. We first met this wonderful man named Don A.K.A. Screeg Neegis, in 1978 when we moved to Boston. Screeg joined our road crew, helping out with gear at the shows we did around town, running the sound, the lights, whatever needed doing around the stage, he was always at the ready with a cable or a kind word. He quickly became an invaluable friend for life and an integral part of our Rock ‘n Roll family.

25 Years After

Through Screeg’s incredible audio reconstruction techniques and patience, he has been able to salvage many of our original tapes dating back to when we first picked up acoustic guitars and thrashed away at them. He has spent countless hours diligently digitizing and encoding the songs from a pile of gnarly tapes we had salvaged from our soggy basement. We have to give him MEGA credit for sifting through hundreds of hours of cassette tapes – AND HE HAD ONLY JUST BEGUN… we have piles more stored in boxes that we haven’t told him about yet *wink*. We are amazed at how well he can clean up these vintage tapes and get them to sound like music…

Screeg is a tireless one man digital studio, bringing you the PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED DISCOGRAPHY of The Phantoms. He is also working with tapes of some other very unique underground bands that sprang from The Phantoms such as The Organ Dönörs, Diabolix and others.

We LOVE YOU and THANK YOU from the bottom of our PuNky little hearts.     Micky & Angelo ~ The Phantoms
